All Blacks lose against the Aussies…

Australia have recorded their highest-ever score against the All Blacks as they beat the world champions 47-26 in the Rugby Championship in Perth. Is the curse of All Black choking around the world cup returned?

It was the Wallabies’ first win over New Zealand since 2017, however they did have the benefit of playing over 40 minutes against 14 men, as Scott Barrett was dismissed for a dangerous tackle just before half-time.

This result also means Wales take top in the world rankings, just 24 hours before taking on England. This is the first time NZ have not been top of the world rankings in 10 years….

Winger Reece Hodge scored two of Australia’s six tries to help them record their highest points tally in 165 Tests against the All Blacks. Another pointer that then choking curse could be back.

For Australia, this gives then a massive physiological boost running into the World Cup, as its the first back-to-back victories in the Rugby Championship since 2016.

The red card certainly didn’t help the Kiwis, as poor discipline in the first half led the Kiwis to being offside on numerous occasions..was this frustration maybe on the All Blacks side?

“It was some game, plenty of action,” added Australia head coach Michael Cheika. “When you get that atmosphere brewing, it makes you want to play better. A few things went our way, but I’m very pleased. We’re all pumped.”
